The Bhel Power Plant Explosion in Bangladesh’s Haryana is the Latest in a Line of Recent Plant Power Explosion Events
The Bheel Power Plant explosion in Haryas northwest district of Bheeli, has led to over 400 deaths.
The blast took place on Friday morning, January 16.
The Bhesh plant, which has a capacity of 4,500 MW, was a joint venture between the state-owned power company Bhil and the state of Haryanas State Electricity Company (SESCO).
The blast took the lives of more than 400 people.
The death toll from the plant’s explosion was reported at over 200, with over 5,000 injured.
The Haryan Times reported that the power company has set up a task force to investigate the incident.
In the wake of the Bheels explosion, Bheshwash was placed under the control of the State Electricity Corporation of India (SEDC) in a bid to curb the spread of blackouts.
